About Us
Meet our Teachers
Pamela Lawson: Director of the NASAW Program. She is a National Board Certified Educator in the Goddard School District and is a violinist in the Hutchinson, Newton Mid-Kansas and Enid Symphony Orchestras as well as being the Chairperson of our SCKEMA. She also teaches privately in the Wichita area.
Brooke Browning: Co-Director of NASAW. Brooke loves teaching and performing in the Wichita Area. She maintains a private lesson studio and loves to work as a Clinician in local schools. She enjoys helping students level up and polish their skills and nuture their love of music.
Hannah Copeland: Has had a love for music since childhood. Hannah is currently entering her second year of college pursuing a degree in Instrumental Music Education at Wichita State University. She cannot wait to experience this summer teaching violin with NASAW and sharing her love of music!
Sage Rosalez: Sage Rosales is a violinist based in East Lansing, Michigan. She recently completed her Masters at Michigan State under the tutelage of Dmitri Berlinsky. Sage is a member of the Jackson Symphony Orchestra and actively performs with the Lansing Symphony Orchestra. Currently she teaches at the MSU community music school in East Lansing. Sage loves being outdoors and making art!
Zeke McGhee: will be teaching cello for us again this summer. He is a student of music at Friends University. He bring a great energy to his teaching and is great at engaging the students on their level and encouraging them to learn something new!
Substitute teachers for the summer
Marcia Hatfield: A teacher in the USD 259 school district and plays Bass in the Wichita Symphony Orchestra. She will be teaching Bass this summer with us.
Alicia Mann- Plays violin in the Hutchinson Symphony Orchestra and Newton Mid-Kansas Symphony Orchestra and teaches violin and piano in the Wichita area.
Jordon Kaspar: the head music director at North High. He will be teaching Bass for us this summer.
What is NASAW?
We are a summer classical music school dedicated to the preparation and education of string players here in Wichita. Our goal is to equip students of the violin, viola, cello and string bass with the skills, with the support and encouragement needed to succeed in orchestral and solo performance. We also give guidance and support to parents new to the world of classical music.
This summer we are offering two camp choices. Both sessions will be offered in June. One on Thursday evening from 6-8 pm and one from Friday morning from 9- 11am. Each session is $85 and payment is due at first lesson. Each session will be a combo of private lessons and ensemble practice. We will be preparing students to play in small ensembles or solo at our recital on Saturday, June 22nd at the Old Town Farm & Art Market. We will also have a dress rehearsal on Friday, June 21st at 6pm for all students to prepare for recital the next day.
We hold the camp at University United Methodist church, just north of WSU. Address is 2220 N Yale.
